Viewing, Adding, Updating, and Removing Comments
The Summary tabbed screen displays the Comments field group at the bottom of the screen. The Comments fields and controls allow you to view the most recently displayed comment, add/save a new comment, and view previously added comments using the Comment History screen, which can then be used to edit or remove a previous comment.
The system displays the Comment History window with the Comments List grid. The most recently added comment is displayed at the top of the grid. The grid displays rows of comments with grid row displaying (from left to right) the Comments text, Last Updated By user name, Last Updated On date. The rightmost column, “Action”, displays the Edit link. The Remove button is displayed above the grid.
Viewing Comments and Comment History
The most recently added or edited comment for the operator/filing is displayed at the bottom of the Summary Tab display within the display-only Comments field. You can also use the View Comment History button and window to view previous comments.
To View Comment History and Previous Comments:

Click the View Comment History button, located at the bottom of the Summary tabbed screen.
The system displays the Comment History window.

Use the displayed Comments List grid to view the list of previous comments. The grid includes the Comments text, Last Updated By (user name), and Last Updated On (save date/time) for each comment/row. Refer to the standard procedures in “Searching List Grids” for detailed list grid procedures. You can open individual comments by clicking a comment row’s Edit link (in the grid row’s Action column) which opens the Update Comment dialog box. Clicking the dialog box’s Cancel button will close the Update Comment dialog box without saving.

When you have completed viewing comments, click the Close button to close the Comment History window.
The system closes the Comment History window and redisplays the Operator Summary screen and Summary tab.
Adding a Comment
To Add a Comment:

Locate the Comments field in the Comments field group, using the scroll bar as needed to navigate to the field group at the bottom of the Summary tabbed screen.

Enter the text for the new comment within Comments field, removing, adding to, or editing the text currently displayed as needed. The Comments field allows you to enter up to 400 characters and, as you type text into the field, a “characters remaining” counter decrements to indicate the characters that remain available for text entry.

Click the Save button.
The comment is displayed within the Summary tabbed screen’s Comments field and the system displays the Comment Updated message in red text immediately above the field (The system also adds the new comment to the top of the Comment History screen’s Comment List grid as a new row and adds your Last Updated By (name) and the Last Updated On (date/time) to the new row’s data).
Updating a Comment
To Update the Most Recently Added Comment:

Using the Comments field in the Comments field group, edit the displayed comment text, removing, adding to, or editing the text currently displayed as needed. Click the Save button.
The comment is displayed within the Summary tabbed screen’s Comments field and the system displays the Comment Updated message in red text immediately above the field (The system also adds the updated comment to the top of the Comment History screen’s Comment List grid and adds your Last Updated By (name) and the Last Updated On (date/time) to the row’s data).
To Update a Previous Comment from Comment History:

Click the View Comment History button.
The system displays the Comment History window with the Comments List grid. The most recently added comment is displayed at the top of the grid. The rightmost column, “Action”, displays the Edit link. The Remove button is displayed above the grid.

Use the grid to locate the comment that you want to edit.

Click the Edit link, in the grid row’s Action column, to open the Update Comment dialog box.

Edit the text for the comment using the unlabeled Comment field, which allows you to enter up to 400 characters.

Click the Update button (or click the Cancel button to abort the process and return to the previous screen).
The comment is updated within the Comments List grid, and the system adds your name as the Last Updated By (name) and updates the Last Updated On (date/time) to new row.

When you have completed all comment text editing activities, click the Close button to close the Comment History window.
The system closes the Comment History window and redisplays the Operator Summary screen and Summary tab. The Comment field in the Summary tabbed screen’s Comments field group displays the most recently updated comment’s text.
Removing a Comment

Click the View Comment History button.
The system displays the Comment History window with the Comments List grid with grid rows (from left to right) the Comments text, Last Updated By user name, Last Updated On date, and the Action column. The Remove button is displayed above the grid.

Use the grid to locate and select the row for the comment that you want to remove.

Click the Remove button.
The system displays a Delete Confirmation message box.

Click the message box’s Delete button to complete the remove comment process (or click the Cancel button to abort the process and return to the previous screen).
The comment is removed from the Comments List grid.

When you have completed all remove comment activities, click the Close button to close the Comment History window.
The system closes the Comment History window and redisplays the Operator Summary screen and Summary tab. If you removed the most recent comment, the Summary tabbed screen’s Comments field displays the most recently updated comment’s text.
